Assemble a PC :

Necessary components for assembling a computer are :

  • Hard Drive
  • Memory Modules
  • Microprocessor
  • Power Supply
  • Heat Sink
  • Cooling Fan
  • Integrated Drive Electronics (IDE) Cables
  • Video Card

Steps to Assemble a PC :

  • Select the proper system case
  • Open the system case
  • Install the power supply
  • Install case fan (if available)
  • Configure the motherboard
  • Install the microprocessor and heat sink
  • Install the motherboard
  • Install the memory
  • Mount and install the disk drives (IDE, SATA)
  • Mount the floppy disk drive
  • Mount and connect the CD-ROM drive
  • Install NIC Card and other expansion cards (if any)
  • Connect all the interface and power cables
  • Connect all connectors (panel connector, audio connector, fan connector)
  • Connect the peripheral devices such as keyboard and Mouse
  • Connect the monitor

Steps to Disassemble a PC :

  • Disconnect external devices (Keyboard, mouse and monitor)
  • Remove the system case cover
  • Disconnect all the internal cables
  • Remove the device cards
  • Remove the disk drives
  • Remove the RAM
  • Remove the processor fan
  • Remove the processor
  • Remove the motherboard
  • Remove the cooling fan
  • Remove the power supply
